Another great turnout for our society meeting last Monday, when the guest speaker was FAW Referee Recruitment & Retention Officer (and FIFA Assistant Referee), Ceri Williams.

Ceri explained the current FAW referee strategy and how it is being revised and improved to focus more closely on increasing the numbers of ACTIVE referees. This may involve changes in how potential referees qualify; for example, after the online element of he course, referees may have to complete a certain number of games (with support from a mentor) before they are deemed to have qualified.
