Recently, elite international referee Cheryl Foster has been attending the FIFA Women’s World Cup - Australia & New Zealand 2023 Referee and VAR Candidates Seminar.

The week-long residential course held in Lisbon, Portugal was aimed at bringing together all the nominees who are on the selection process for the World Cup next year and going through intensive training in preparation for the prestigious event.

As part of the course, Cheryl was put through her paces physically as well as partaking in educational sessions and VAR practice.

Cheryl was joined in Lisbon by the worlds other elite female officials from across all continents and gave the match officials a first chance of getting to know one another off the pitch, as well as on it.
