Society life member, Ken Wright is officially a world record holder.
Last Saturday, he was surprised by our very own, Viv Nedin, and a TV crew from ITV News who confirmed that Ken is the longest-serving referee in the world with an incredible 62 years' continuous service to the game of football.
Viv presented the certificate and medal to Ken which confirms that his feat has been recognised by the Guinness Book of World Records.
I can't imagine he record will ever be broken!
Congratulations Ken. A phenomenal achievement!

PS I do like the last photo - Viv looks very serious while Ken looks like he's expecting Jermy Beadle* to appear.
(*Younger referees will have to google who Jeremy Beadle was!)
