On 23rd February, the Welsh Government confirmed that "Elite" staus had been restored to Tier 1 of the football pyramid.

As a result, the following league competitions will recommence:

JD Welsh Premier League - first fixture scheduled for 2nd March 2021

Womens Welsh Premier League - first fixture scheduled for 7th March 2021

In the Welsh Government Press Briefing on Friday 12th March First Minister, Mark Drakeford, confirmed that infection rates were falling in Wales and a gradula reduction od restrictions was being implemented.

Although there was no concrete indication of when teams in other tiers of the pyramid will be able to return to play, he indicated that,

"organised children's activities can restart after 27th March.....if case rates remain low"

This implies that children (i.e. under the age of 18 years) may soon be able to return to training and - possibly - playing friendly matches.
