On 3rd April 2023, the FAW made the following announcement :
The FAW is pleased to inform you that we have agreed a new partnership with Macron to enable grassroots and elite referees to access the same standard and quality of kit across the board.
We have formed this partnership in order to address concerns raised by match officials in last season's referee survey about the availability of referee kit. Only 67% of match officials agreed they could access the kit they needed in the 2021/2022 season.
The new Macron range of kit is now available for all match officials to purchase should they wish to do so.
The kit is available with either no badge, with an Area Association badge, or with the FAW Referee badge.
All Macron stores are able to supply the kit with the badge of your choice. If you cannot find the badging option that you are looking for on their website, we advise you get in touch with them directly to request it.
Remember, when you are refereeing on the pitch your match shirt should only display the badge that is appropriate to your referee level in accordance with the Referee Regulations.
If you are a level 1, 2, or 3 Referee/Assistant Referee then you may wear the FAW badge on your match shirt.
If you are a level 4 Referee then you may wear your Area Association badge on your match shirt.
The official Referee match and training wear is available to purchase in-store and online from Macron’s 6 Welsh stores located in Cardiff, Ebbw Vale, Llanelli, Neath, Swansea and Wrexham.
