Wales hosts its first ever UEFA Tournament Finals when the Women’s Under 19 Championship deciders are held in South West Wales in August 2013. It promises to be a festival of female football!

The tournament in August 2013 will take the form of two groups of four teams. Each side will play each other in the first phase, then the top two
side from each group will go forward to the semi-finals. There will then be a final match to determine the winners of the tournament for 2013.

Seven teams will join Wales as the hosts for the finals and the game will be played in just over two weeks. The hub of the tournament will be Swansea, where most of the teams will be based. Matches are planned for the city, plus Carmarthen, Llanelli, Bridgend and Haverfordwest.

Admission will be free up to the semi-final stage. Each team will have its own training base and the FAW are looking at regional clubs to hosts the sides and make them ‘their’ team for the tournament.

The semi-finals and final are televised on Eurosport and there will be much interest from visitors and fans across Europe
